"I Believe that this means the pearl is out of their lives, the music cannot be heard, the temptation destroyed. the pearl could no longer affect Kino's mind, make him do all the things he did. The pearl that caused the family to run away from their lives, chasing after fortune, the thing that caused so much anger and greed in the town, was gone, hopefully never to be seen above ground again."
Cameron referred to the repeated motif of the music in a very great and poetic way. He also showed he knew the symbolization of the pearl, he thought that the pearl was a symbol for greed, he then connected greed to Kino and his family and the town. Cameron had many great lines of very thoughtful writing in his response but my favorite was "...the music can not be heard, the temptation destroyed." I definitely think Cameron has a superior/advanced response because it was a very quality piece, I especially liked his topic sentence and the rich word choice.
